“You should ask Akio out on a date!” A cheerful voice exclaimed, the person throwing their hands as certain paperwork on the hardwood floor. The person slammed her hand on the desk, resulting her boss to yell at her causing the older woman to flinch in response, but she apologized to her boss. The older woman turned back to her colleague and grinned. “I mean, come on, Kaze!”
Kaze’s face flushed deep red – she only had met Akio through a dating site which resulted them to meet up sometime after her classes were over. Being exceptionally smart, he was driven to the work force immediately but so was she. They mostly shared incredible smarts but neither wanted to talk anything but other than work-related stuff. She got so embarrassed when her friend mentioned dates or outings. “I don’t know, Rangiku… I just...”
“Just what?” Rangiku asked curiously, her eyebrows raised. “When was the last time you've actually ever treated yourself, huh? This should be a perfect thing for you to do with Akio.”
The younger girl’s face flushed even more – she could probably faint just about right now. “Ma-maybe… just maybe…”
Rangiku’s smile slowly turned into a grin which made her smile widely. “YES!”
Her hands were unusually clammy. The sun was shining brightly, the sky clear and there were no signs of clouds – a perfect day for a date. The short-brown haired girl was standing near a local coffee shop in town; it was pretty popular as many kids from high school came here to get coffee in the mornings or it was used for late afternoon studying place as well. Aizen wore a blue tank top with a plaid short-sleeve shirt over it with denim shorts along with white sandals. She was staring up at the sky as she thought that she was going to ruin this date before it was even going to start. This wasn't something that she was used to as she was used to studying and going to school.
“Kaze?” A quiet but subtle voice questioned her name. Soft brown eyes met small gold ones. When she first met the tall but lanky individual, she didn't peg him as an date type sort of guy yet here he was, standing in front of her in casual clothing as well.
Thank goodness it was a Saturday.
Her lips pressed together even more, forming a straight line before smiling softly though it was very smug-like. "Yes?" She answered. A light smile appeared on his face.
"Well, it's nice to finally see you again," Akio answered as he chuckled lightly.
Kaze raised an eyebrow. "We just saw each other about two weeks ago..." Kaze replied softly as she eyed him curiously.
"Perhaps so. I've been waiting to see you again."
Her eyebrows rose curiously. "Let's get this... outing started, shall we?"
"Of course. Where will we be going?"
"I thought you were going to pick where will we be going..."
"It is the ladies choice, and you are the lady, Kaze," Akio replied with a smile.
Kaze hoped that the gods were not going to let her ruin this date.
After going to the many places she desired to go, they were at a local ice cream polar. Akio had a vanilla and strawberry mix which she might've figured it was his favorite. She didn't know anything about him besides that he worked for a living and he had a high paying job. She was sure that he didn't know anything about her either. None of them wanted to make the first move to talk, it felt awkward between the both of them to start a conversation.
The sole child of the Aizen family felt her fingers twitch as she took a bite out of her ice cream cone. It was swirl - vanilla and chocolate. Her favorite. He didn't know that either. "Since we don't know each other that well, why don't we play twenty one questions to get to know each other a little better?"
Her eyebrows rose and her fingers stopped twitching. "Twenty one questions? I never heard of that," she replies softly. She'd never really played any game since her parents were at work all the time.
"It's a game," Akio replied simply as he took another bite of his ice cream. "Where many people can play. Though, it's most used for two. Say you and I. I ask a question and you give an answer. You ask a question and I give an answer. It's simple."
She looked at him with a confused look but smiled. "All right, let's try."
The young business man nodded. "Okay. I'll start. What is your favorite color?"
Kaze rolled her eyes. "That's a silly question. I thought we were being serious."
Akio chuckled. "I am being serious," he surmised. "Just answer the question."
Kaze sighed and answered with an, "Periwinkle."
"That's an interesting color."
"Oh shut up, Senoue. My turn, I guess. What's your favorite food or desert?"
"My favorite food would have to be curry and my favorite desert would be ice cream."
The brown haired girl chuckled. "You're lame."
"I am not. Alright, my turn. What's your favorite food or desert?"
"My favorite food is Shiso. My favorite desert is... Hakuto Jelly."
"Sounds interesting. I might have to try them sometime."
"Pfft, you wish."
The questions continued until they were at the final end of their questions. The two was happy beyond this point and they could feel like they could talk about anything. However, Akio wasn't about to ruin their date that they were having so he contemplated on asking the last question of their game. It was sundown, and they were at the park as they watched the kids roam around free as they played at the playground. Young adults and teenagers were walking down the trail that was at the park.
Akio watched Kaze as she saw children come up to her and asked if she were to play with her. She softly declined them and told them that she was with her boyfriend. But the children were persistent. While she went to go play with the children, Akio wondered why she was so alone, had little friends in her life. Perhaps it was because she wanted to be lonely.
After a few minutes, the Aizen child came back to Akio with a small smile. "Sorry."
"For what? The kids wanted to play. It's no big deal," Akio replied.
Kaze chuckled. "So, final question. Have any siblings?"
"Yes, I have one. I think she'd like you. Her name is Aiko. We're like twins but we're just brother and sister."
"Wow. She must be amazing."
"Amazingly annoying," Akio countered back with a grin. "My final question. Where are your parents? Don't you have any?" Akio faltered back when she saw her face darken slightly but she sighed.
"My mother was a police officer and she was KIA. My father got put in jail. They just... left me as if I was cursed or something," Aizen replied softly as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"I see... well, I'd never leave you," Akio stated.
Kaze's brown eyes widened as she stared at him with shock on her face. She tilted her head as her eyes slowly went back to being big. "You wouldn't?"
"Of course not," Akio replied. He grabbed her hand and placed his lips on it. A blush appeared on her face. "I'd take care of you."
Aizen's face got redder and she'd turn her head away. "Sh-shut up..."
